btw, I'm now about the same weight as before I started having kids

I knew there was a reason I didn't like you... (just kidding). You're awesome! I know what you mean about the clothes not fitting the same. I am the same weight I was before my first was born, and I have belly rolls I never had before. The weight's the same, but the body's not. Oh, for the pre-baby abs!

I packed less stuff for my second's birth. I found I didn't use 1/2 the junk I brought the first time. It was nice to have a lighter load. But you are so right about the pre-mee clothes. My boys were both average (7lb 11oz; 7lb 6oz respectively), but nothing fit, even after they both put on about 4 pounds in 2 weeks! I didn't have much pre-mee stuff, and was re-washing the same few outfits for a couple of weeks. I finally just put them in the 0-3 stuff even though it was oversized.
FOOD! I was famished after both of my deliveries, and while the hospital did provide me with a small sandwich and unlimited drinks, that wasn't enough after not having eaten for 2+ days. When I packed my bag for the second child I think 50% of the space was taken up with things to eat after I was done. Hm... wonder why I'M not the same weight I was as before I started having kids?? lol.
@ Cath: You are so right! I can't believe I forgot food! With my last delivery I made my husband drive through Arby's and get five beef and cheese sandwiches on the way to the hospital so I would have them right after the delivery.

Going to the drive-thru on the way to the hospital while in labour? Now that's brave! We live about 7 minutes from the hospital and all I could think about was how to minimise the number of contractions I had to endure in the car.

[this is good]
Hi Tami,

Thanks for the post, P is now using it to assemble the bag. Food and lip balm are definitely my #1 priorities. Also, I want to thank you for providing me with the Shape of a Mother link. That is such a great site.
